Fire, Fire, the house is burning down
Fire, fire, burning to the ground
Burning to the ground
Run down to the neighbor’s
at the bottom of the ridge
Mark the fire trucks ford the creek
They’re too heavy for the bridge
I got a forty gallon rain barrel
A five gallon pail
Flinging water at the flames
All to no avail
Fire, Fire, the house is burning down
Fire, fire, burning to the ground
Burning to the ground
I know my fiddle’s in there
but the house is filled with smoke
I crawls down on the floor
Trying not to choke
There ain’t no air to breathe
No light for to see
I feel ‘round for the fiddle
I find it and I flee
Fire, Fire, the house is burning down
Fire, fire, burning to the ground
Burning to the ground
Hear the sirens scream
See the red and blue lights flash
Watch as the house I built
Crumbles into ash
There go our belongings
The kid’s toys and the books
Pictures and old letters
I cannot help but look at the
Fire, Fire, the house is burning down
Fire, fire, burning to the ground
Burning to the ground
We built this house together
Of one mind and one heart
This is not the first time
I’ve watched it fall apart
Flames reach to the stars
Smoke blackens against the night
My heart’s been gutted
There’s nothing left to fight but the
Fire, Fire, the house is burning down
Fire, fire, burning to the ground
Burning to the ground
Fire, fire hot as our love long ago
All of its gone now like last year’s snow
Fire, fire house is burning to the ground
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down
We all fall down
Fire Fire
